Dr. Quinn Pauly

Dr. Pauly is a board-certified Family Physician, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice, Co-founder and immediate past President of the Nevada Physician Wellness Coalition, and past-Treasurer of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. In addition to 33+ years in the continuous clinical practice of medicine, he is a recognized thought leader in Lifestyle Medicine, Physician Wellness/Physician Burnout, and Healthcare Industry Wellness Programming, including Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation.
Dr. Pauly’s hometown is Reno, Nevada, where he attended Wooster High School and the University of Nevada-Reno School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Pomona College in Claremont, California. Dr. Pauly performed his UC San Francisco Family Medicine Residency at Natividad Medical Center in Salinas, California.

Elizabeth Boyd
Registered Nurse
Elizabeth Boyd is a registered nurse with ten years of nursing experience, her focus has always been on the health and long-term well-being of her patients. She began her nursing career in 2016 on the telemetry unit at Renown South Meadows, during that time she cared for critically ill cardiac patients. This exposure to chronic cardiovascular disease illuminated the necessity for preventive and lifestyle medicine.
Elizabeth has been a Reno resident for over 15 years and was raised in Truckee, California where she attended Truckee High School. She received her nursing degree from the Maxine S. Jacob’s Nursing Program at Truckee Meadows Community College.
Elizabeth received her degree in nursing from Truckee Meadows Community College in 2015; while completing the nursing program she maintained an active role in the Maxine S. Jacobs Student Nursing Association and participated in the Peer Advisor Program.
Having always had a passion for helping people, especially the elderly and those with
chronic diseases, Elizabeth began her career in the healthcare field as a personal care
assistant. She then completed her certified nursing assistant training at Truckee
Meadows Community College, and shortly after was accepted into the Maxine S.
Jacobs Nursing Program.
After graduating in 2015, she accepted a position on the
telemetry unit at Renown South Meadows. Wishing to move to the outpatient setting to
develop better relationships with her patients, she accepted a position in 2017 at
Executive Health with Dr. Quinn Pauly. Since that time, her passion has been helping
patients through the power of lifestyle medicine and unsurpassed diagnostics to help
them achieve quality of life, for life.
She enjoys hiking and snowshoeing with her two dogs. Her and her husband share a love of cooking and especially enjoy creating new and delicious whole food, plant-based recipes. She also enjoys splitting her time between home DIY projects and exploring northern Nevada and the California coast.
Lean Altez
Medical Assistant
Lean Altez was born and raised in Reno, NV. From a young age, Lean was driven by a deep desire to help others, which ultimately led her to pursue a career in healthcare. Her journey began as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), where she gained firsthand experience in fast-paced, high-stakes environments and developed a strong foundation in patient care. Lean further expanded her skills as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT), working closely with children diagnosed with autism. This experience deepened her understanding of patient-centered care and the importance of empathy in healthcare.
Throughout her high school and college years, Lean remained committed to giving back to her community. She volunteered at Renown Regional Medical Center. Additionally, she held leadership roles in the Blue Key Honor Society, where she organized fundraising events to host a prom for children with mental and/or physical disabilities. Her involvement extended to various clubs, including the Pre-PA Club, Filipino Club, and Physical Therapy Club, reflecting her diverse interests and dedication to service.
Lean graduated from Damonte Ranch High School in Reno, NV, earning an Honors Diploma in 2022. Her academic excellence and commitment to healthcare inspired her to pursue further education, and she was accepted into the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) with a full-ride scholarship.
She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health in just three years (May 2025). Lean is currently in the process of applying to graduate programs to become a Physician Assistant (PA), with the goal of continuing to grow as a compassionate and skilled healthcare professional.

When she’s not at work, Lean enjoys staying active and exploring new hobbies. She loves spending time outdoors and enjoys playing pickleball at local parks. On days when she’s off the court, you can find her at the gym with friends. Lean also has a passion for food, frequently trying out new restaurants. In her downtime, she enjoys video games, traveling, and spending time with her two dogs & family.
Allison Shima
Medical Assistant
Allison Shima is from Reno, Nevada and has a strong interest in working with people and a commitment to a career in medicine. Through her clinical and academic experiences, she has developed a deeper understanding of how physicians build meaningful patient relationships and guide individualized care. She is currently applying to medical schools with the goal of becoming a physician.
At the University of Nevada, Reno, she developed an understanding of the mechanisms underlying human disease. She is a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and previously worked as a Physical Therapy Aide, gaining experience in both clinical and rehabilitative patient care. Allison currently volunteers with Eden Hospice, where she supports patients and families during end-of-life care, and at Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center, where she gained insight into the collaborative nature of medicine in a hospital setting.
Allison graduated from Galena High School in Reno, Nevada, earning an Honors Diploma in 2022. Motivated by a strong interest in science and human health, she continued her education at the University of Nevada, Reno.
There, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology & Immunology with a minor in Biochemistry. She also earned her Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification through Western Nevada College. Allison is currently in the process of applying to medical schools with the goal of becoming a physician.

Allison spends much of her free time outdoors, including long-distance running, hiking, and paddle-boarding. She is also training for an upcoming HYROX CrossFit competition, reflecting her interest in endurance and functional fitness. Living in Reno, she takes advantage of the proximity to Lake Tahoe, where she spends time with friends and family on the water or at the beach. She also values travel and opportunities to explore new places and experiences.
